More purchases

Hi everyone!

I received my UrbanOutfitters package shortly after the one from ASOS. I'm delighted to say that I adore everything apart from this one ring that was really plasticy looking and kind of.. just idk I don't like it ANYWAY here are the rest of my purchases.

Well, almost everything in the following photos are from Urban. The red shorts and brown bag I purchased from Harbourtown and the really colourful kimono jacket up in the top right corner of the first photo is from ASOS. Everything else is from Urban! I also ordered 2 pairs of sunnies but I forgot to incude them. :(

Unexpected!

It's Saturday now.. so although it didn't happen today, it's still pretty recent! On Thursday, I went shopping with mum to buy my brother some ties (and got myself a pair of Tony Bianco heels which I've been lusting over since the beginning of last year - on sale for $50 at David Jones, last pair!) and a few jumpers from Lowes (because they're absolutely amazing - soft and warm and just perfect for Winter). When I came home, I wasn't expecting anything. Mum went out to check the mail and called me over - there was a massive package for me outside! I'm a little.. iffy.. about sending anything from ASOS here anymore, because they don't ask for your signature to collect the package - they just leave it outside. I wouldn't want anyone taking my package, so I might redirect my ASOS orders to the box address.

Kimonos and stuff

So, after weeks of studying and the joy of utter disappointment over my results, I resorted to my usual activity - drowning my sorrows in a little retail therapy. The 'little' is, of course, a litote for the consumption of all the limited time I have before I really need to start knuckling down on all my uni work and making sure I don't lose any MORE unnecessary marks. A real wake up call, I tell you. Luckily it wasn't too harsh, but I'm still a little unsure of where I went wrong. I know I studied but probably not enough, hey.... but then it's surprising because I remember doing nothing else other than having my head in my books. Ahh well, nothing I can do about it now except wait for end of semester.

It's a little bit of a hassle since I know I could have done a lot better... and I've also lost 5% overall for each of the APs so... that HD isn't looking too good for me. In saying that, I know I'm a bit of a pessimist and I never fail to look at the half empty perspective of everything. It's also a personality flaw, but for the most part, I've put it to good use.

Back to the main focus of this post: I was stalking my friend (.. "friend", what a casual term to describe someone I haven't talked to once in 4 years) and she was wearing this absolutely gorgeous kimono jacket. It was graphite grey and only slightly floral and so beautiful. I started looking for it EVERYWHERE but I just couldn't find it. I think I wasted something like 3 hours just doing that. But yeah ok, sad story. I was on lookbook and I wanted to find something similar. The main candidates are H&M and Urban Outfitters but I just put in a massive order, so tough luck to me trying to order anything else online hey.

The first one is really elegant but I'm not sure I could pull off the whole maxi jacket thing because I'm short LOL. I like the colours though - bright but warm enough to wear every day and the design is nice. If I could combine the design of the first with the length/size of the second, I'd get it right this second. In saying that, I do like the hint of turquoise featured in the second.

But the one that really strikes me is the third. I love it and if I could find one identical to it, oh gawd my life would be absolutely complete. It's perfect and even though I'm only seeing a photo of it, I think I'm in love. The red is such a rich, blood-like colour and the sleeves are divine. Length is perfect - around dress-length and overall, it's my favourite. I'd buy it in literally every colour. Every. Colour. And yeah, it's just beautiful in every aspect.

If anyone sees anything remotely similar, I would be so eternally grateful. You have no idea.

And when I develop obsessions with things, it tends to stay for a while. I started liking high-waisted shorts a long, long time ago and my interest in them hasn't faded since then, just to give you an idea.

Tossing up, tossing down

I want to buy a new pair of wedges but I'm not sure what I should get. I think I'm a bit too addicted to shopping, but at the same time, I know it's pretty much normal to always want new shoes, yes?

I'm tossing up between Tony Bianco Brixton in black or these Jeffrey Campbell wedges. IDK BRO THEY'RE BOTH SO BEAUTIFUL. The thing is, I'd be getting the Tony Biancos in person or whatever and the Campbells would have to be online, which is slightly dodgy just because I wouldn't have tried them on before.

Worth the risk, que?

The Tony Biancos

Jeffrey Campbells

DO YOU HONESTLY KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO DECIDE?

I'll probably just go with the Tony Biancos but I have been eyeing those Jeffrey Campbells for ages now.

Rummage: my buys

Even though it's been almost a week since the suitcase rummage/mother's day, I'll still post about it lol.

I didn't sell anything as usual. I think reluctance to part with clothes is a genetic thing. Actually, I was seriously thinking of selling stuff at next month's rummage except mum doesn't want me to. She said that she'd wear the stuff I didn't want ..... except I'm not sure how that's going to work.

Ugh I hate how blogger makes the photo quality really crap.

Outfit: elephant necklace from uni markets, top from rummage, paper bag shorts from urban outfitters and blazer from country road.

I spent ages at the rummage. Actually, I started shopping before it even opened LOL I just walked around while everyone was registering. I stole some of Jason's photos.

  • Sweater: $5
  • Maxi skirt: $10

You know, just taking a break from studying and all

I honestly intended to post yesterday but I didn't have time to. Seriously, I went to sleep at my normal nocturnal hours of the day and told my mum to go away twice when she tried waking me up.

She left me alone in the end, allowing my waking up on my own accord.

Left the house late, got to uni just on time and then started freaking out about the behavioural skills test we had to do for interpersonal skills, which is a psychology subject compulsory for the dent course.

I found the dress I bought from the city for like $15 the other week and thought I might wear it with something I got from the rummage just because I would have been a complete idiot for wearing just the dress in moderately chilly weather. I'm pretty sure it was $8. I swear, I'm never going to buy another piece of clothing from any retailer for the rest of my life.

I had to bounce the stupid flash. Remind me never to take photos when it's dark outside.
Yeah, I was still an idiot because it was windy. And you know what wind + short dresses means. I was kind of self-conscious for the entire day. Yeah, that was really cute.

I never thought a mirror shot could give such nice detail. I forgot that I could bounce the flash.
I didn't think I was a dress person, but this is really my style. Maybe not the best but I still like it. I love the warm colours; it's not too in your face.

I love the crochet detail on the shoulder line.
You can probably tell I like mirror shots now. So long as you can't see my face, everything is all G.

Love oversized. LOVE.
I made the mistake of wearing a white bra. I realised that as soon as I got to uni, but yeah I couldn't exactly turn around, could I?

So yeah not a huge post but basically, WDYWT #1.

I seriously did mean to write this, but I was studying and responding to various people on skype, going through questions.

Stress levels accumulating.
