Firstly, I'd like to apologise (yet again) for the lack of updates.
I don't know how long this lack of bother is going to last.
(Probably indefinitely.)
Secondly, I just want to share that Kimbra is officially taking fashion tips from yours truly.
Just kidding. But seriously.
If only you knew how mean she really is... You'd know that I'm not allowed to these glasses, right? Yeah! Two years ago she [Kimbra] told me these glasses were her thing and I wasn't allowed to wear them anymore. And then for Chinese New Year my parents got this pair of really expensive gold rimmed sunglasses and I had to pretend like I didn't even like them and... it was so sad. And you know she cheats on Aaron? Yes, every Thursday he thinks she's doing SAT prep but really she's hooking up with Shane Oman in the projection room above the auditorium! I never told anybody that because I am such a good friend!*
*Although inspired in part by a true incident, the aforementioned story is fictional and does not depict any actual event.
Thirdly, I'm in Vietnam for my brother's wedding (which happened last weekend). It was a beautiful event, with emphasis on the HOT. I was in a full length, full thickness áo dài and bore the whole brunt of the heat. There was a really cute guy wearing FuLLy InDiE clothes and tassled loafers. Ugh. Probably 10 or so years too old for me. Ah well. Never hurts to look, does it?
Lastly, this post actually has a purpose. Showing you my favourite lip products for.. August!
And it's now.. (not even September) October! Another totally timely post brought to you by me.
First up is Coralista by Benefit. It's not so much a hydrating lip gloss (because it sure as hell doesn't work for me) but it smells amazing and I usually apply it over Carmex or something that actually works. Meh, not complaining. My cousin gave it to me and probably gave it to me with good reason too.. but I will continue using it until there is not even one drop left in the tube.
Meet my beloved YSL Sheer Volupte Candy in #2 Dewy Papaya.
Now this, on the other hand, does work. Probably my HG of all lip balms AND it smells like mango because it's infused with mango butter and it's absolutely divine. I could have chosen one with more colour but I really like how the colour is so subtle and more of a corally, orange colour. I've become obsessed with orange lately.
To date, this Paul & Joe Lipstick C in #75 Sex Kitten (LE Spring 2012 Collection) is the only one I've found that has exactly matched my true lip colour. So in a sense, even though it's not classically a "nude", it's the purrrrrrrfect "naked" lip colour. Plus, how can you resist the packaging? It's actually perfect, except it's a cardboard case and how it's survived almost 2 years of constant use/wear & tear, I'm not sure.
But kudos to you, Paul & Joe! Not the first P&J lipstick I've bought, but certainly not the last.
If you follow my Tumblr, then you may have seen me rave and rave on about these Revlon Lip Butters. I have about 8 in my collection now. Pretty much all of the non-shimmery ones because I hate glitter. With a passion.
This one I'm wearing is in 030 Fig Jam and it's the perfect stain of a colour that you can wear every day and not be judged by the second in a place like North Queensland. I bought Raspberry pie the other day and it's equally as amazing (perhaps more pigmented) - reminds me of Centrifuchsia by Lime Crime, except this is a less opaque, more wearable, everyday option.
I love these lip butters. I think they're underrated. They're moisturising, affordable and add character to your lips.
I bid farewell to the Carmex tube on the top because I lost it about a week ago. But alas, I bought a pack of 2 for like $2 and have another one. And I've decided I just don't like the Chubby Stick at the bottom. It's much too pink and makes me look like a China dolls. There's another one I have yet to try in my drawer, so I'll let you know how that goes. I do actually like the formula of this particular Chubby Stick (Woppin' Watermelon) but just not the colour.
I will have a list of updated lip products very soon (meaning in the next 12 or so months).
Lots of love! x
